October 5, 2002—Gateway Safety, Inc. announces the launch of their inaugural line of hearing protection. For 58 years, the Cleveland-based manufacturer has produced eye, face and head protection and will now provide a complete line of safety equipment for the ear including both disposable and reusable earplugs and earmuffs.
“We view our expansion into hearing protection as an important part of Gateway Safety’s growth and development, allowing us to maintain our leadership role in the PPE market,” said Kenneth Love, President of Gateway Safety. “It was also a natural evolution of our business in order to work more closely with, and to provide better support to the major customers that we already have.”

Several new products will be introduced including; disposable earplugs featuring the Z-Series—Soft Plugz™, Hot Plugz™ and GloPlugz™; reusable earplugs under the Twisters™ brand; and the Sound Series earmuffs line—SoundChoice™ and SoundOut™. Additional products are in development and are scheduled for launch in 2003.
According to Love, the hearing protection line will be held to the same strict standards for safety, style and effectiveness as Gateway Safety’s acclaimed line of safety eyewear. “Our ear safety products offer the highest degree of noise-protection and are available in a variety of styles and colors that encourage compliance from users,” Love said.
